In a word, texture. CLINICAL Ultra-Rich Soothing Body Butter has a soft, buttery cream texture while the Lip & Body Treatment Balm has a thicker texture and more lubricating feel.Another difference is that CLINICAL Ultra-Rich Soothing Body Butter is a water-based cream whereas the Lip & Body Treatment Balm is plant oil–based and does not contain water, which gives it a more viscous texture and slightly glossy finish. Both products are excellent for addressing the needs of dry to very dry skin, though Ultra-Rich Soothing Body Butter's texture is preferred for use over larger areas.
